Workplace story · Quiet Wins · 3 min read

I stopped asking permission to be proud of myself.

For years, I measured progress by what other people recognised. A good review mattered more than how I felt. A compliment from leadership could carry me for weeks.

This year was different. I set a boundary and kept it. I asked for clarity instead of volunteering to rescue every unclear request. I took my leave without apologising for it.

There was no announcement. I simply noticed that I had survived the year without abandoning myself. It may not look impressive on a résumé, but it is the achievement I am most proud of.
